Today is Good Friday. It’s a day that I am reminded of how great my Savior’s love is.
I am a sinner, worthy only of death. Yet, He loves me and willingly died a terrible death for me. With His death, all my sins have been paid for.
He loves you too. He died for you.
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
John 15:13
A visual reminder of this great love…
Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
Romans 5:9-10
who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.
I Peter 2:24
And on Easter Sunday…
Stricken, Smitten, and Afflicted
Stricken, smitten, and afflicted,
See Him dying on the tree!
’Tis the Christ by man rejected;
Yes, my soul, ’tis He, ’tis He!
’Tis the long expected prophet,
David’s Son, yet David’s Lord;
Proofs I see sufficient of it:
’Tis a true and faithful Word.
Tell me, ye who hear Him groaning,
Was there ever grief like His?
Friends through fear His cause disowning,
Foes insulting his distress:
Many hands were raised to wound Him,
None would interpose to save;
But the deepest stroke that pierced Him
Was the stroke that Justice gave.
Ye who think of sin but lightly,
Nor suppose the evil great,
Here may view its nature rightly,
Here its guilt may estimate.
Mark the Sacrifice appointed!
See Who bears the awful load!
’Tis the Word, the Lord’s Anointed,
Son of Man, and Son of God.
Here we have a firm foundation,
Here the refuge of the lost.
Christ the Rock of our salvation,
Christ the Name of which we boast.
Lamb of God for sinners wounded!
Sacrifice to cancel guilt!
None shall ever be confounded
Who on Him their hope have built.

HI. I found you at the Saturday Soire. I shared this valuable post on Twitter and G+. I know he died for me, but what really hits me is that he died for the people who hurt me as well. That just thrusts a feeling of humility and submission that I cannot contradict. There is no rebuttal to “I died for all of you.” Thank you for reminding me… I’ll have to think of this the next time my teenager gets on my last nerve. Continued blessings to you~

Yes, His love is for everyone!
We are all sinful and deserve hell, but He died to save each and everyone of us. He saves us from ALL sin.

There is a quote that I like,
” If you don’t have something that you’re willing to die for, you aren’t fit to live”
I think that this quote is fittting between life and death, so we can live our life to its fullest.
Thanks for the beautiful post, BTW.
