Children are made readers on the laps of their parents. — Emilie Buchwald
It’s fall! This is the perfect time to enjoy a fall book or two with your children. Curl up under a blanket inside or bring it outside to soak up the sun and enjoy the crisp weather before it turns into winter. Read about the leaves, apples, pumpkins, thanksgiving, and more.
I am sharing just a few fall books we enjoy. Go to Amazon to add the books to your collection or head to your library to check these out. Here are some of the best children’s books for fall:
It’s Pumpkin Day, Mouse
This book will get your children ready to carve pumpkins! My girls loved to pick their favorite pumpkin expressions.
God Bless Our Fall
A sweet reminder of the many blessings of fall.
Bear Says Thanks
Karma Wilson’s bear books are favorites in my home.
Bear Has a Story to Tell
For the end of the fall season…
An Old-Fashioned Thanksgiving
by Louisa May Alcott
The Berenstain Bears’ Harvest Festival
Fall
And a touch and feel book for the little ones.

Love your introductory quote! I have it hanging on my kids’ wall. Encouraging a love of reading in my kids is super important to me. There are so many amazing benefits to reading, so I love whenever I find posts that foster that in others. These are great suggestions!

Yes. I just came across the quote about a year ago and loved it right away! It’s how I was raised and I intend to do the same with my children. :)

I love this roundup. My 18 month old loves when I read to him. These would be great to add to our reading time this fall!

Cute list of books. I love buying my little one books. Why, I have a couple hiding to give to her on Halloween. I was always a book buyer, not a toy buyer! I hope you will share this list with us over at The Crafty Corner link party. :)

I LOVE the bear books by Karma Wilson! Charming. I haven’t read a lot of these, so I’ll have to go searching at the library. One of my favorites is a quirky little story called The Ugly Pumpkin. It’s a twist on the ugly duckling.
Emily says
We will have to check out “The Ugly Pumpkin”. Thanks for the recommendation!

Great book recommendations. I always think it is so good for parents to read to their children and for children to have books in their hands!

Great list of fall books. I added it to my Kidlit board on pinterest. My kids just loved touch and feel books when they were young. Tap the Magic tree is also a great picture book to check out. I’m visiting today from #smallvictorieslinkup.

I’m so much happier to see this inclusive list of books for fall, instead of Halloween. We definitely need to check out some of these books and share with the boys! :)
