When we were searching for a home a few years ago, the hardwood floors of our current home appealed to us. The hardwood floors in the front entry and living room were refinished before we moved in and we love the look of the floors from the minute you walk in the front door. Because there is no foyer and this is the door that gets the most traffic, it’s a constant job to keep the living room and front entry hardwood floors clean.
Because I use water and vinegar for other cleaning tasks around the home, I was using this combination on my hardwood floors. I then found out that I was mistaken. The vinegar will actually dull and strip away the finish on the hardwood floor. I was excited to try the Bona® PowerPlus system as a fast, simple, and safe way to clean my floors.
I am happy with how this new system works on our hardwood floors. It’s quick, easy, and my floors look great! I was impressed with how the floors looked the first time I used the Bona PowerPlus system on my floors. The floors now look great as I am deep-cleaning them without stripping off the finish. I am excited to have a new go-to for cleaning the floors and that I will not be ruining my floors like I was with the vinegar!
The Bona PowerPlus system is Bona’s most powerful cleaner yet. It’s oxygenated formula loosens and removes heavy dirt build-up, providing a deep clean without the extra effort. Bona’s deep cleaning solution results in easy, one-step cleaning without the mop and bucket. The PowerPlus Hardwood Floor Deep cleaner is specifically formulated for hardwood floors and works to deep clean. This cleaner is safe for hardwood floors and is GREENGUARD certified.
For optimal results, it’s recommended to use the Bona PowerPlus Hardwood Floor Deep Cleaner with the Bona PowerPlus Microfiber Deep Clean Pad. Featuring PowerLoop technology, the microfiber pad gently breaks apart and loosens tough dirt via the twisted nylon scrubbers while the dual zone pad absorbs and traps dirt. The pad is machine washable. I used the Hardwood Floor Deep Cleaner (which is a spray) and the Microfiber Deep Clean Pad with Bona’s floor mop.
I was impressed at how easy it was to use. I spent more time moving furniture and sweeping than I did actually cleaning the floor. It was nice not to have to get on my hands and knees to scrub the floor. It was a chore that I won’t mind doing again in the future. It loosened the dirt and cleaned my floors well without leaving a residue behind. It also doesn’t have a strong odor, so it was nice not to have a powerful chemical smell lingering in the house.
It was perfect timing for finding a new way to clean my floors, as washing the hardwood floors was on my 30 Day Spring Cleaning Challenge list!
The Bona PowerPlus system is available at Lowe’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, ACE Hardware and True Value.

This is a great system! I’ve found myself on my hands and knees on my floor trying to get spots out. I’ll have to check this out the next time I’m at Lowes.

Tif @ Bright on a Budget says
Your floors look great! I wonder how this would work with the laminate floors.
Emily says
Thanks Tif!
It sounds like Michelle uses it on laminate floors and it still works great.

You don’t have to twist my arm here. I LOVE this stuff. I use it for laminate floors and finally something cleans the footprints up, the grime from my two little dogs and best thing is you can throw the pad in the wash. Love it!!
Emily says
Thank you for sharing your experience with it Michelle. Yes, being able to throw the pad in the wash is a nice perk. I am excited to continue to use my new cleaner!

I have heard this product recommended by someone else and was interested in trying it – your floors look amazing! Like Tiffany, I wonder how it would work with laminate? I would love for my floors to look as clean and shiny as yours!
Emily says
It sounds like Michelle mentioned that it works on laminate too.

I have been using Bona for several years for my hardwood kitchen floor. Recently I used it and my floor became real slippery. I called the company and was told to use power plus Bona, I used it yesterday and it’s still slippery, HELP! I hope someone can help me with this.
Emily says
Slippery isn’t good. I didn’t have that problem at all?
