We are finally enjoying warmer weather and it’s motivating me to get started on Spring Cleaning! There is something about the fresh air, sunshine and open windows that makes me want to freshen up my home! I want to get it out of the way so when we start hitting the 70 degree days, I am outside playing with the kiddos.
Here is how it works: There are 5 days of specific tasks to complete, followed by two “Pick Your Project” days. It may work best to schedule the Pick Your Project days for your weekend. Depending on what your schedule looks like, you can make the Pick Your Project days fall whenever you want.
Why did I include the Pick Your Project days on this Spring Cleaning schedule? Every house is different and everyone has different priorities so you can decide what you want to spend your weekends on. {Or just take the weekends off!}
Here are a few examples for the Pick Your Project days:
- Clean outdoor furniture or equipment
- Clean garage
- Wash & clean out car
- Wash baseboards
- Launder throw pillows & blankets
- Power wash deck
- More ideas on printable schedule
I have joined Challenges before and later found that some of the tasks can take a few hours to complete. I just didn’t have the time (and just wasn’t willing) to set aside so much time every single day for cleaning. So I tried to spread the cleaning out so it didn’t take hours each day.
You will notice that a few cleaning activities are grouped by task instead of by room. Many spring cleaning schedules will list “wash windows” under each room. If I am getting out the products to wash windows and I’m in the window washing groove, my preference is to just wash as many windows as I can.
Print the 30 Day Spring Cleaning schedule here. There are 3 versions included in the PDF.

I love spring cleaning lists! This looks wonderful. I completely agree with you–if I’m getting all the supplies out to wash the windows, I’m just going to do them all at once. Good call.
Blessings,

By the way, I just tried to follow you on G+ but your sidebar button isn’t working. So I tried to +1 the post from the left side button, but that didn’t work correctly either. It didn’t pull up the specific post. Pinned it and subscribed to the newsletter.
admin says
It was set up to give a +1 or something instead of going directly to my page. I’m not on G+ much, so it wasn’t linked. I now linked it…so I better update the page! Thanks for visiting and for pinning! :)

Spring cleaning and I have such a love hate relationship. I am a neat freak and enjoy clean and tidy spaces but it takes so much time and effort! This list is super helpful to get started.
admin says
Yeah…I agree. It can take a lot of time. I’m always happy once I’m done though!

Yes, I don’t have a full day or two to set aside for spring cleaning. Spreading it out it much easier!
Ashley Ponder says
Thanks so much for this! I’ve printed mine off and am ready to get to work…ha! No, really I am. I am such a list gal.
admin says
Great! I need a list and a plan also. :)
Mia says
What a great list! I really like how you’ve broken things apart to make them seem doable. It still seems so daunting to me. I think I need to start smaller, lol. Like a room at a time. It may take me till next spring, but it will be done! =0)
admin says
Yes, it’s much less daunting. And if it takes you until next spring, that’s OK too. ;)
Mia says
Oops, fogot to mention I stopped by from Wine’d Down Wednesday! #winedown

Lisa notes says
My spring cleaning major project is to revamp my daughter’s room. She left for college in 2007 and her room is still basically as she left it. ha. We did take the posters off the walls, but we’ve been staring at ugly tape marks for years now. I’d like to turn it into an adult room for when she and her husband come stay with us on weekends. Thanks for your encouragement to get with it!
admin says
That sounds like quite the project. Good luck!
Tanya @ Mom's Small Victories says

This is a great idea!! I might be better about consistently sticking to a cleaning schedule with a list like this! Thanks for sharing your great post with us this week. Hope to see you at the Best of the Blogosphere next week! :)
momstheword says
Oh how fun! I love cleaning challenges. I also love that you gave TWO days to clean windows. I saw one challenge where they only gave one day and I thought “Seriously?” Of course, it depends on the size of a person’s house and how many windows they have. We have a ridiculous amount of windows! And then we also have a running battle with doggy noses, lol!
admin says
I had no intention of doing all my windows in one day.
I don’t have battles with doggy noses, but I do have a one year old little girl. Lots of smudges!
